Day - 1: Nairobi – Masai Mara

Your 3 days Masai Mara budget camping safari departs from Nairobi to Masai Mara game reserve at 0800hrs with a pick up from our driver. We will drive through kikuyu central highlands and into the Great Rift Valley escarpment. We will make a short stopover at the viewpoint to look down into the Great Rift Valley.

Continue south westwards passing through Narok town and into the Loita plains of the Masai Mara. We will come face to face with the greatest abundance of wildlife in Mara. There are more than 5 million animals in the Mara in an area of 1510 sqkm.

The Masai Mara game reserve is known for the big five animals including lions, buffalos, leopards, elephants and rhinos. There are also hundreds of other animals including giraffes, hippos, crocodiles, gazelles, zebras, hyenas, cheetahs, baboons and many more.

Check into the Miti Mingi budget tented camp and enjoy your lunch. We will then go for an evening game drive at 1600hrs until dusk. This is our best chance to see the lion prides of Masai Mara, the buffalos, elephants and the leopards.

Day - 2: Masai Mara

Your day 2 in a Masai Mara budget camping safari will start with an early breakfast and followed by a full day game viewing in the park. You will depart the camp with your packed picnic lunch, as this is your longest day game drive in the park.

Drive to the Mara plains and look for lions, elephants, buffalos, leopards, cheetahs, rhinos and the millions of gazelles and other antelopes in the planes. Enjoy viewing the magnificent undulating plains that seem to disappear into the horizon.

The morning game drive is very cool and most animals are out and about, and easy to see. However, by 1000hrs, the sun starts to get hot and animals start to take cover under the acacia trees.

Day - 3: Masai Mara – Nairobi

Wake up early this morning for an optional game drive after breakfast. You can decide to have breakfast and then go on a game drive enroute to Nairobi as you exit the park. You may also opt to go for an early game drive at 0630hrs and return to camp for a breakfast before checking out and heading out for Nairobi.

Either way you will be able to see the last of the wildlife and check out on the elusive ones before you say goodbye to the Masai Mara game reserve.
